Youth Liner System

One Helmet, Three Different Sizes

THE DILEMMA
THE DILEMMA

One of the problems many parents face while trying to choose a suitable helmet for their child is product longevity: Will my child outgrow their helmet? At AFX we have tried to tackle this issue with our Youth Liner System, currently found on our FX-20Y full-face helmet, FX-17Y, FX-18Y, FX-19Y, FX-35Y youth off-road helmets.

THE HELMET THAT CAN CHANGE WITH YOUR CHILD
THE HELMET THAT CAN CHANGE WITH YOUR CHILD

By simply replacing the cheek pads and liner (see PARTS & ACCESSORIES) any YLS-equipped AFX helmet can be transformed to comfortably fit a child with any of three youth helmet sizes: Youth Small, Youth Medium or Youth Large (see HELMET SIZES). For example, you could take an existing Youth Small FX-17Y helmet, pop out the cheek pads and removable liner, replace them with the Youth Large cheek pads and liner, and end up with a Youth Large FX-17Y helmet. Since the physical shell of the FX-17Y helmet never changes, the impact safety provided by the helmet is not affected by the change.

THE SAVINGS
THE SAVINGS

The cost of a Youth Large Kit (consisting of Youth Large cheek pads and liner) for example, would be less than $35.00, which should be a lot more attractive than replacing a perfectly good $80.00 helmet every few years, if not sooner, as your child continues to grow.
